Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since spring of that year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
He rescued four initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
